Lucien Tilkens
Lucien Tilkens is mostly for his rear suspension system, the monoshock. The revolutionary system Was purchased by Yamaha in 1972 and won the 250 World Championship with Hakan Andersson at the helm. Mr. Tilkens was a brilliant engineer and invented many interesting and clever things. Lucien’s son Guy Tilkens donated many of the items that Lucien was working on to the International Motocross Museum. All of the Tilkens artifacts will be on display at the International Motocross Museum including the very first monoshock bike that was built using a works CZ frame from Sylvain Geboers! The IMM is very grateful for these historical items. Here are a few.
